The Computer Gaming Club is a special interest group at Durham High that spends Friday lunches playing multi-player computer games. Many students at Durham rarely have the opportunity to compete in a multiplayer scenario. The primary game played are Counterstrike and Natural Selection. They are first-person shooters where students choose to be on a team and combat each other. There are other styles of games that some students are interested in playing including strategy games, like Age of Empires: Age of Kings. Students are required to have a permission form signed by their guardians in order to participate in the gaming.

If you are interested in joining talk to Mr. Blake for a form.

Counterstrike

Players choose to be either terrorist or counter-terrorist and battle each other. It is a very fast-paced game, as the counter-terrorists try to rescue hostages or defuse bombs.

Natural Selection

Players choose to be either marine or alien and combat each other to the death. Commanders build bases and provide supplies for their side, and the games can be much longer than a counterstrike game.
