Personal Electronic Devices
We are starting to see an increase in Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) being out on campus. As a reminder, per our school handbook, PEDs must be off and put away when students arrive on campus. Students may use their PEDs after the last bell rings at the end of the school day.
Please review this expectation with your students. If PEDs are seen during the school day or go off during class time, they will be confiscated and handled according to the discipline matrix outlined in our handbook.
Thank you for helping us limit distractions and support a focused learning environment by reinforcing our school expectations with your students.

This past Friday, our Community Booster Block Party was full of laughter, sunshine, and good times. A few of our future 6th graders were introduced to their new principal, Josh Rowe, in a fun and splash-filled fashion.. A few lucky students got to dunk Mr. Rowe, and he’s already joking that he remembers exactly who they were and that a little friendly payback might be in the works. 😄 Thank you for the great spirit, Mr. Rowe.

Parents will follow their student’s schedule to hear from each teacher about what to expect in their classes at DIS this year.
Important Notes:
PE Classes will meet in the Commons.
Chromebook Contract:
The Library will open at 4:30 PM for parents to sign the Chromebook Contract.
Completing this contract will allow your student to check out a Chromebook to take home.
Our librarian will be available from 4:30–6:00 PM to assist with the forms.
Students will not be issued a Chromebook until this is signed.

All students interested in participating in sports at DHS and DIS during the 2025-2026 school year must have a Physical Completed before participation. We are asking for a $10 donation to help offset any costs that may occur.
Please make sure to complete the following CIF Pre-participation Physical Evaluation (PPE) forms and bring them with you on June 3rd.

Durham Intermediate School added a BCOE FOCUS special education classroom this school year. Today, the students in this class participated in the Special Olympics event at Harrison Stadium in Oroville. The students wore nice new Durham Intermediate School shirts for the events (A big thank you to Mr. Pena)
Over the weekend, the DHS Jazz band went to a competition in Santa Cruz where they took 1st place in their division and 2nd overall out of 14 schools! Alex Grandstaff won the overall jazz soloist award.
They did an awesome job!
This is an excellent opportunity for children to attend our Durham High Volleyball Team Fundraiser during an awesome week-long volleyball camp from July 14-17, 9 AM to Noon. This is a fantastic opportunity for incoming 2nd - 8th graders to have a great time, learn new skills, and make new friends on the court.
