Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to thank our amazing bus drivers.
Every morning and afternoon, you safely transport our students with care, patience, and a friendly smile. You are the first and last face many students see each school day, and your dedication makes a lasting impact on their lives. Rain or shine, you go the extra mile to ensure everyone arrives safely.
Thank you for your commitment, kindness, and the important role you play in our school community. We appreciate you today and every day.

DIS April Student of the Month
April's Student of the month was nominated by Mr. Ramsden. He wrote this student exemplifies all three of the panther traits everyday. She shows respect by greeting students and teachers cheerfully. She can be heard saying "thank you" often, most notably at the end of each class as she heads out the door. She demonstrates empathy by willingly helping other students with school work. She is usually the last to leave his advisory class, as she is busy putting up any remaining chairs on the desks. This student is purposeful in her work. Her assignments and projects are completed thoroughly and thoughtfully. It is for all of these reasons that she has also been appointed the editor for the DIS yearbook for the 26-27 school year. Congratulations to our April Student of the Month Lydia Cooley!

DHS had 29 girls go to the Dream It, Be It Career Support Conference in Chico. They learned how to set goals, balance stress, overcome obstacles, and met with mentors to explore different careers. Everyone enjoyed themselves and felt the conference was a great experience. We hope to bring more students next year. The Soroptist of Bidwell Rancho and Chico did an amazing job.

DIG Sound System Installed
We are excited to announce that the DIG has received a major upgrade! Thanks to the generosity of a community member, we now have a brand-new sound system installed.
While the picture may not do it full justice, you can see the six new speakers mounted in the rafters. This upgrade will allow us to play music and use microphones much more effectively, enhancing assemblies, events, and everyday use of the space.
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community. We are fortunate to have such generosity poured into our school.
Be on the lookout for another upgrade
announcement in the coming weeks, and once again, thank you to our community member for making this possible for DIS!

🌋 What an EXPLOSIVE day at Durham Intermediate.
Today, our incredible 6th graders wrapped up their volcano projects, and wow — did they go out with a BANG.
It was amazing seeing the community and fellow schoolmates come together to cheer them on. The support and excitement in the air made this day one to remember.
A huge shoutout to all the students who put their hearts into these projects, and to everyone who showed up to celebrate them. This is what Durham school spirit is all about

Exciting day at our school today. Some of our elementary students had the special opportunity to witness the groundbreaking start of the new elementary school buildings. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they watched. We can’t wait to see the new school take shape.
